Alex’s birthday
was on Thursday, and we celebrated with döner kebabs. We normally
get them on Wednesdays for the half off deal, but it was a special
occasion. James Bond even made a special appearance on the movie list
that night. I also had 8L1 create him a birthday card, and their
messages were precious. We didn’t do much on either of our
birthdays, but whatever trip takes place the month of that person’s
special day is “dedicated” to them. Mine was Köln for Karneval,
and this month, we are going to Prague!
We hit a few bumps
yesterday at rehearsal. To promote The Ransom of Red Chief, Alex
and I had the kids make flyers to hang around the school. One of our
less organized students realized she had a conflict with one of the
show dates as she made a flyer. I can’t believe my head didn’t
explode right then and there. The only thing I could do was to remove
one of the character and ask one of my younger girls, Pauline, to
take on this bigger role. Honestly, it was a blessing in disguise
because Mirka was not dedicated and I see so much potential in
Pauline. I think she will really step up to the challenge. I spoke
with her after rehearsal, and she agreed to play the part.
